Hydroelectric power stations

Hidrowatt has a long experience in the construction of new hydroelectric power stations and in the recovery and modernization of already existing power stations. Our engineering equipment is specialized in the design of power stations at a final budged, hand key, electrical equipment and hydro mechanical, civil works, automatization and telecontrol.

Hidrowatt has been protagonist in the world of the renewable energies and has taken to be charter member of prestigious associations as the APPA (Association of Small Producers of electricity with renewable energies), or ESHA (Eurepean Small Hydropower Association), of whose governing bodies we have comprised for a long time.

Hidrowatt also executes works of irrigated land, supplying, pumping, forced conductions, pipes and other facilities related to the hydraulics. Some interventions in this scope have been the deflection of the industrial water canalization in Riu Clar in Tarragona (Spain), the canalization of Les Planes i Aixelelles de Flix irrigation (Tarragona, Spain), phreatic level improvement in Barcelona ground water or channeling Premià de Dalt river (Spain).

In addition several to the projects of Hidrowatt have been selected by the Thermie programs and Value of the European Union.

Hidrowatt has participated, like engineering, contractor or installer in more than 75 hydroelectric power stations, Spain and Portugal, and tendering and preparing studies in Chile. As emblematic facilities emphasize:

• Hydroelectric advantages of Santa Magdalena river (Spain), consisting of three cascade power stations , with an installed power of 11.7 MW and more than 8 km of hydraulic circuits in which Hidrowatt developed all the studies of viability, concessional and administrative projects, constructive projects and direction of works, taking responsibility later of the operation.

• The hydroelectric power station standing up of prey of the dam of Sant Ponç (Spain), of 2 MW, in which Hidrowatt developed the studies of viability, project for the tender and constructive project, acting later as electromechanical installer of the generation groups and as Work Direction.

• Hydroelectric power station of the Serradó (Spain), of 2.1 MW of power in the Manyanet river, where it developed the studies of viability and the constructive project, constructing later the facilities in JV with Relsa (ENDESA), taking responsibility later of the operation.

• Agricultural energetic project of the Rec dels 4 Pobles, in which the system of irrigation by flood was changed by a system of irrigation by aspersion for a surface of 520Ha. The project includes, constructing an hydroelectric power station of 1.7 MW, which turbine the exceeded volumes. Hidrowatt, besides to participate with the Promoter, made the administrative and concessional studies of viability, projects, the constructive project and the Direction of Works, taking later the operation of the facilities.

• Hydroelectric power stations of Llavorsí and Romadriu, in which Hidrowatt made the constructive project and the later construction and start of the facilities.

Co-generation and biomass

Making an efficient use of the energy Hidrowatt has successfully made power projects of new technology, as the sludge termal drying and biomass district heating by co-generation and hot water production.

In both projects Hidrowatt has been implied together with the promocional companies, in the facilities engineering, construction and operation.

We emphasized the following facilities:

• Plant of co-generation to the WWTP of Sabadell Riu-Sec (Barcelona, Spain).

• Plant of heat generation with biomass in Molins de Rei (Barcelona, Spain) By means of the combustion of biomass is generated heat of to warm up a closed circuit water that, by means of heat interchange, provides hot water and heating in the Urban sector La Granja, in the Municipal Term of Molins de Rei. Power: 3MW.
